What is Pitch? What is a lead?
Pitch is the distance measured parallel to the axis between two points corresponding to adjacent chevrons in the shaft cross-section of the screw.
It is represented by P, and 1.5P refers to 1.5 pitches.
The lead is the distance between the beginning and end positions of the thread (parallel to the axis) when the thread is rotated, denoted by L.

Effective diameter: The hypothetical diameter of the cylinder such that the width of the thread is equal to the width of the thread
- Difference between pitch and lead
Pitch: Distance from the neighboring mountain (parallel to the axis)
Lead: The distance between the beginning position and the end position when turning one revolution (parallel to the axis)
One-thread screw (general screw) When you rotate one wheel, it moves by one pitch | Two-threaded screws (two or more screws are collectively called multi-threaded screws) One rotation moves two pitches |
