What is PT screw?
It is a thread commonly called a tapered screw for JIS (English type) pipes, and it is a tapered thread for tight coupling of the old JIS standard. (JIS B 0203)
・Both the external and female threads are denoted as PT.
・In contrast to the PT tapered thread, the fitting female screw is PT (tapered) or PS (parallel).
The thread angle is 55 degrees.
・The name is expressed in inches, and the pitch is expressed in the number of mountains between 25.4mm. (e.g. PT1/2-14, PT3/8-19)
There is no distinction between thread accuracy, only one type. (In the past, there is no distinction between grade 1 and grade 2 like the thread accuracy of JIS metric threads.) )
The taper angle is 1/16 taper. The slope angle on one side is 0.5/16 taper, 1°47'23" per angle.

Thread machining tools (taps, thread mills, thread round dies) and thread gauges
・Thread processing tools can be shared with R and Rc.
・Gauges cannot be shared because the standard tolerance of the screw gauge is different from R (tapered male thread) and Rc (tapered female thread).

use
・The main purpose of connecting pipes is to make the threaded part tight and resistant
