What is Right Angle (RA)? Sharp corner edges? Can you do right-angle machining?
Right angle means right angle. RA（＝Right Angle Type）
This specification refers to a special cutting edge treatment for square end mills that can at the same time ensure the right angle of the corner of the machined surface while applying a blade patch (gash application) to improve chipping resistance. It eliminates the risk of chipping, which is a disadvantage of the sharp corner edge specification, and the unshaved corners (it is difficult to secure a straight angle), which is a disadvantage of the blade application specification, and achieves both cutting edge rigidity and right-angle cornering. In the AE-VM series, there are right-angle types for AE-VMS and AE-VMSS. Behind the outer diameter is displayed -RA.
