What is Center Drill?
A center drill is a tool for machining center holes, which is required when a tailstock mounted on a tailstock is used mainly on a lathe to support the center of the workpiece. It is a stepped specification that combines the small diameter drill part at the tip, the tapered part according to the center hole angle, and the chamfering part. It can be used not only for center hole machining, but also for various applications such as positioning (centering) before drilling with other drills and chamfering after hole drilling.
We do not handle "center drills" in the JIS standard. For centering and chamfering purposes, please consider spotting drill "LDS".
