Collet (abbreviation for collet chuck) is used in machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and machining centers. It is a tooling part that fixes the tool, and is a cylindrical jig with a radial sledge.
It is fixed by tightening it with a zipper from the outside.
Of the retainers attached to the spindle and tool post, those with a convex holding part are called "arbors" and those with a concave holding part are called "holders", and are collectively called "tool holders". A "chuck" is a structure that shrinks and holds in the radial direction.
