What is a Stopper Gauge? What gauge to inspect?
Plug gauge is a common name for a cylindrical gauge without a plug-shaped thread.
There are "limit plane gauges" and "inner diameter plug gauges".
Both inspect hole-shaped objects and have similar gauge appearances, but differ in the object to be inspected and the accuracy.
A limit plane gauge is used to check whether the hole diameter meets the tolerance dimensions of the hole specified in the drawing. (JIS B 7420)
Example: Φ12 H7
The inner diameter plug gauge inspects whether the inner diameter of the internal thread is within the tolerances specified for each thread accuracy. (JIS B 0251)
Example: M6×1 6H
Example: Φ12 H7
The inner diameter plug gauge inspects whether the inner diameter of the internal thread is within the tolerances specified for each thread accuracy. (JIS B 0251)
Example: M6×1 6H
