What is PFDC? OSG Phoenix Indexable Tool

PFDC is a lightweight, large-diameter disc cutter that can be mounted on small machining centers.

  • The body alone is extremely lightweight at a maximum of about 1 kg, and the total weight including the arbor can be suppressed, so large-diameter tools can be used without worrying about weight restrictions (Φ125 can be used with BT30)

  • Cutters for non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and resin

  • Insert grade XP4610 for long-life processing of non-ferrous metals and resin processing (DLC coating)

【Main Benefits】

  1. In milling, a wide surface can be processed at one time, so the number of passes can be reduced and the machining efficiency can be increased.

  2. It is possible to reduce the occurrence of streaks at the joints of passes, which is a problem in multi-pass machining with small-diameter cutters.

  3. Due to its good sharpness and low resistance, it can be used even in environments where it is difficult to hold a sturdy workpiece (e.g., resin workpieces are fixed with double-sided tape).

  4. Reduction of power consumption by using a small processing machine without using a large processing machine = energy saving

  5. Excellent chip discharge performance due to internal lubrication specifications that can be lubricated directly at the cutting point

  6. Balance grade G6.3 guarantee (body) that is advantageous for ensuring accuracy in high-speed machining environments such as aluminum

  7. It is highly convenient because there is no need for a dedicated arbor and a commercially available arbor can be used as it is.

  8. The same inserts as the existing shoulder milling cutter PSF and luffing cutter PSFL can be shared (*limited to non-ferrous applications).

  9. DLC coated inserts with excellent surface smoothness and high cutting speeds with a large diameter and high rotation speed make it possible to obtain a good processing surface without galling or burning, which is possible for resin materials such as MC nylon and POM.
