Causes of band saw weld break
If the weld of the band saw breaks, the following cases are possible.
If the weld breaks in a straight line
Cause (1) When the blade is under normal wear
Improving the grade of band saw material → wrong selection of band saw material
Cause (2) If the blade is not worn
Review machining conditions → defects: Wear of tension, backup rollers, and side rollers
Review the band saw part number selection error→ pitch, and blade shape.
When the weld breaks at an angle from a straight line
Causes of poor cutting surface
(1) Excessive saw blade pitch
Solution: Replace the saw blade with an appropriate pitch or reduce the feed.
(2) Excessive descent speed
Solution: Adjust the scale to achieve an appropriate descent speed
(3) Abnormal wear of saw blades
Solution: Check the cutting conditions and workpiece material, and change to a higher grade material if necessary.
(4) The vibration of the sawing machine is large.
Countermeasures: Check and adjust the looseness and uneven wear of each part such as the guide arm and pulley drum.
